ACDSee 7

ACDSee 7.0 photo management software, PC Magazine's Editor's Choice for digital photo management in their April 15, 2005 issue, excels in organizing, searching and retrieving photos. ACDSee targets intermediate to advanced digital photographers and uses keywords and categories to organize images. There is a user-definable master keyword list for standardizing searchable words and phrases, allowing you to quickly assign keywords. You can select images from different folders and view them at the same time in the same window. ACDSee's image rating system lets you rate your images and then you can sort and dispay them according to the rating.

ACDSee has a Backup utility where you can perform full backups or incremental ones.

ACDSee lets you drag thumbnails into an Image Basket, which acts as a temorary holding area where you can edit, print, email and manage photos. The software has decent editing capabilities with a red-eye correcting tool, a One-Click Fix, adjustment levels, several filters to add special effects and remove noise, and cropping to standard or custom sizes.

A real plus is ACDSee's batch processing capability that lets you quickly rename, resize, rotate and flip, adjust exposure, convert to 14 image formats and create up to 9 different archive file formats, including ZIP and encrypted formats.

ACDSee has a utility for making stand-alone slide shows run by an .exe that you can use as a screensaver or send by email. The software also outputs professional looking html pages.

There is no question that ACDSee 7.0 is one of the best programs for managing your images with the most extensive archiving capabilities, at a reasonable price.
