A Hot New Compact Camera

A new Canon camera has just come on the market that's sure to generate a lot of interest this holiday season, especially for people looking for a compact camera with a big sensor for better photo clarity, that shoots well under low light conditions -- plus a big LED. It's the Canon PowerShot S90IS. While more expensive than most other compacts, its features make it worth the money.

Canon PowerShot S90IS
Cost: Approx $425

Features:10MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3-inch LCD. Bright f/2.0 lens, which is great for a compact. Extremely high quality images for a compact camera. Performs superbly under low light. Outdoor shots are rich in color with great detail. Excellent for macro photography, producing clean and sharp images. RAW shooting mode. Customizable control ring for easy access and manual operation. Small and light, it will fit in your pocket. Cons: Only shoots in 640 x 480, no HD. You can read more about the Canon PowerShot S90IS at Amazon.

Discounts on Photo Cards for the Holidays

Shutterfly Christmas Photo CardSending a personalized Photo Greeting Card for the holidays has become a popular trend. The majority of holiday greeting cards I receive feature the smiling faces of friends and family, far outnumbering traditional cards. The same holds true for most of the cards on display in my friends' houses.

It's actually pretty comparable in cost to send a photo card vs a traditional holiday card. Both average around $1 each for a folded card on stationery paper such as the one pictured. A glossy flat photo card (the most popular format) can be a little as 29 cents each; on average they're 45-75 cents depending on quantity ordered. Most companies offer volume discounts.

'Tis the season for Photo Card sales. Here are the sales I found:

See below for more great discounts, including some free shipping offers, that could apply. If you miss a promotion, remember to check my website often (www.digitalphotos101.com/best-digital-photo-services.htm because I continually update the discount coupons and promotions available.
